“In his symphonic poem ‘Prometheus: the Poem of Fire’ (1909) he wrote the line with notation for ‘Luxe’, a specially designed multicolor light projector with colored light-bulbs which was controlled by Scriabin himself playing on a colour keyboard. The multi-colored keyboard was first built in Russia by physicist Alexander Moser in 1910 for the performances of ‘Prometheus’.”

POSSESSED enters the complicated worlds of four hoarders; people whose lives are dominated by their relationship to possessions. The film questions whether hoarding is a symptom of mental illness or a revolt against the material recklessness of consumerism. When does collecting become hoarding and why do possessions exert such an influence on our lives?

“Insomma tutto quello che doveva accadere è accaduto, eppure chissà perchè tutto questo ha l’aria di un nuovo inizio più che di un finale e probabilmente vi inquieta. Forse tutto ciò che vi ho raccontato vi inquieta. Niente paura è sufficiente che teniate occhi e orecchi ben aperti e nient’altro. Infondo se ci riflettete, non può essere certo qualche effetto speciale e un po’ di sangue finto a spaventarvi. Ma distogliete lo sguardo solo per un’istante e vi ho in pugno. È nell’oscurità degli occhi chiusi che allinea il terrore, quello vero.”
